Who Do We Want To Fund?

The fund is open to individuals, groups, coalitions and registered companies/charities. As a Black-led organisation[3], Black Thrive endeavours to minimise the structural barriers that prevent Black people and Black-led organisations from developing their skills and accessing funds. Therefore, we strongly encourage applications from Black and/or disabled individuals, and organisations led by Black and/or disabled people. In Table 1 we detail the Minimum Requirements for accessing different amounts of funding. Table 2 details the essential and desirable characteristics that will inform the assessment of applications.

We advise that you read and review both Table 1 and Table 2 carefully before completing your application and ensure that your organisation meets the requirements for the amount of funding you have requested.

3.We define ‘led by’ as when more than 50% of an organisation’s senior leaders (trustees and managing staff) are Black and/or disabled.

4. Organisational references will not need to be taken up if the organisation has received a grant from either Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity or Walcot Foundation in the last twelve months.
